PRECISION CURRENT SOURCE

DESCRIPTION
The INA138 and INA168 are high-side, unipolar, current
shunt monitors. Wide input common-mode voltage range,
low quiescent current, and tiny SOT23 packaging enable use
in a variety of applications.
Input common-mode and power-supply voltages are independent
and can range from 2.7V to 36V for the INA138 and
2.7V to 60V for the INA168. Quiescent current is only 25μA,
which permits connecting the power supply to either side of
the current measurement shunt with minimal error.
The device converts a differential input voltage to a current
output. This current is converted back to a voltage with an
external load resistor that sets any gain from 1 to over 100.
Although designed for current shunt measurement, the circuit
invites creative applications in measurement and level shifting.
Both the INA138 and INA168 are available in SOT23-5 and
are specified for the –40°C to +125°C temperature range.

DESCRIPTION

The INA146 is a precision difference amplifier that
can be used to accurately attenuate high differential
voltages and reject high common-mode voltages for
compatibility with common signal processing voltage

TCR tracking of these resistors assures continued
high precision over temperature.
A 10:1 difference amplifier provides 0.1V/V gain
when the output amplifier is used as a unity-gain
buffer. In this configuration, input voltages up to
±100V can be measured. Gains greater than 0.1V/V
can be set with an external resistor pair without affecting
the common-mode input range.
The INA146 is available in the SO-8 surface-mount
package specified for the extended industrial temperature
range, –40°C to +85°C.

DESCRIPTION
The INA125 is a low power, high accuracy instrumentation
amplifier with a precision voltage reference. It
provides complete bridge excitation and precision differential-
input amplification on a single integrated
circuit.
A single external resistor sets any gain from 4 to
10,000. The INA125 is laser-trimmed for low offset
voltage (250mV), low offset drift (2mV/°C), and high
common-mode rejection (100dB at G = 100). It operates
on single (+2.7V to +36V) or dual (±1.35V to
±18V) supplies.
The voltage reference is externally adjustable with pinselectable
voltages of 2.5V, 5V, or 10V, allowing use
with a variety of transducers. The reference voltage is
accurate to ±0.5% (max) with ±35ppm/°C drift (max).
Sleep mode allows shutdown and duty cycle operation
to save power.
The INA125 is available in 16-pin plastic DIP and
SO-16 surface-mount packages and is specified for
the –40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range.
