DESCRIPTION/ORDERING INFORMATION
This two-bit non-inverting translator is a bidirectional voltage-level translator and can be used to establish digital
switching compatibility between mixed-voltage systems. It uses two separate configurable power-supply rails,
with the A ports supporting operating voltages from 1.65 V to 3.6 V while it tracks the VCCA supply, and the B
ports supporting operating voltages from 2.3 V to 5.5 V while it tracks the VCCB supply. This allows the support of
both lower and higher logic signal levels while providing bidirectional translation capabilities between any of the
1.8-V, 2.5-V, 3.3-V, and 5-V voltage nodes.
When the output-enable (OE) input is low, all I/Os are placed in the high-impedance state, which significantly
reduces the power-supply quiescent current consumption.
To ensure the high-impedance state during power up or power down, OE should be tied to GND through a
pulldown resistor; the minimum value of the resistor is determined by the current-sourcing capability of the driver.

DESCRIPTION
The TPS6303x devices provide a power supply
solution for products powered by either a two-cell or
three-cell alkaline, NiCd or NiMH battery, or a one-
cell Li-Ion or Li-polymer battery. Output currents can
go as high as 600 mA while using a single-cell Li-Ion
or Li-Polymer Battery, and discharge it down to 2.5V
or lower. The buck-boost converter is based on a
fixed frequency, pulse-width-modulation (PWM)
controller using synchronous rectification to obtain
maximum efficiency. At low load currents, the
converter enters Power Save mode to maintain high
efficiency over a wide load current range. The Power
Save mode can be disabled, forcing the converter to
operate at a fixed switching frequency. The maximum
average current in the switches is limited to a typical
value of 1000 mA. The output voltage is
programmable using an external resistor divider, or is
fixed internally on the chip. The converter can be
disabled to minimize battery drain. During shutdown,
the load is disconnected from the battery. The device
is packaged in a 10-pin QFN PowerPAD™ package
measuring 2.5mm × 2.5 mm (DSK).

frequency and enters Power Save Mode operation at
light load currents to maintain high efficiency over the
entire load current range.
The Power Save Mode is optimized for low output
voltage ripple. For low noise applications, the device
can be forced into fixed frequency PWM mode by
pulling the MODE pin high. In the shutdown mode,
the current consumption is reduced to less than 1 µ A.
The TPS6229x allows the use of small inductors and
capacitors to achieve a small solution size.
The TPS6229x is available in a 2-mm × 2-mm 6-pin
SON package.

DESCRIPTION
The TPS6211x devices are a family of low-noise
synchronous step-down dc-dc converters that are
ideally suited for systems powered from a 2 to 4-cell
Li-ion battery or from a 12-V or 15-V rail.
The TPS6211x is a synchronous PWM converter with
integrated N- and P-channel power MOSFET
switches. Synchronous rectification is used to
increase efficiency and to reduce external component
count. To achieve highest efficiency over a wide load-
current range, the converter enters a power-saving,
pulse-frequency modulation (PFM) mode at light load
currents. Operating frequency is typically 1 MHz,
allowing the use of small inductor and capacitor
values. The device can be synchronized to an
external clock signal in the range of 0.8 MHz to
1.4 MHz. For low-noise operation, the converter can
be operated in PWM-only mode. In the shutdown
mode, the current consumption is reduced to less
than 2 µA. The TPS6211x is available in the 16-pin
(RSA) QFN package, and operates over a free-air
temperature range of –40°C to 85°C.

depend on the input-to-output voltage ratio. The boost converter is based on a hysteretic controller topology
using synchronous rectification to obtain maximum efficiency at minimal quiescent currents. The output voltage of
the adjustable version can be programmed by an external resistor divider, or is set internally to a fixed output
voltage. The converter can be switched off by a featured enable pin. While being switched off, battery drain is
minimized. The device is offered in a 6-pin SC-70 package (DCK) measuring 2 mm x 2 mm to enable small
circuit layout size.

DESCRIPTION
The TPS54620 in thermally enhanced 3.5mm x 3.5mm QFN package is a full featured 17V, 6A synchronous step
down converter which is optimized for small designs through high efficiency and integrating the high-side and
low-side MOSFETs. Further space savings are achieved through current mode control, which reduces
component count, and by selecting a high switching frequency, reducing the inductor's footprint.
The output voltage startup ramp is controlled by the SS/TR pin which allows operation as either a stand alone
power supply or in tracking situations. Power sequencing is also possible by correctly configuring the enable and
the open drain power good pins.
Cycle by cycle current limiting on the high-side FET protects the device in overload situations and is enhanced
by a low-side sourcing current limit which prevents current runaway. There is also a low-side sinking current limit
which turns off the low-side MOSFET to prevent excessive reverse current. Thermal shutdown disables the part
when die temperature exceeds thermal shutdown temperature.

DESCRIPTION
The TPS54331 is a 28-V, 3-A non-synchronous buck
converter that integrates a low RDS(on) high side
MOSFET. To increase efficiency at light loads, a
pulse skipping Eco-mode™ feature is automatically
activated. Furthermore, the 1 μA shutdown supply
current allows the device to be used in battery
powered applications. Current mode control with
internal slope compensation simplifies the external
compensation calculations and reduces component
count while allowing the use of ceramic output
capacitors. A resistor divider programs the hysteresis
of the input under-voltage lockout. An overvoltage
transient protection circuit limits voltage overshoots
during startup and transient conditions. A cycle by
cycle current limit scheme, frequency fold back and
thermal shutdown protect the device and the load in
the event of an overload condition. The TPS54331 is
available in 8-pin SOIC package and 8-pin SOIC
PowerPADTM package that have been internally
optimized to improve thermal performance.
